2008 Best of New Catholic Music Competition
As a celebration of Rocking Romans' first year of operation, and to draw more attention to the rapidly developing world of Catholic Music, the 2008 Best of New Catholic Music competition began on Ash Wednesday of 2008, ending on Easter Sunday. Perhaps because a spot on a commercial CD was the prize for winning entries, or the fact that contest announcements went out to seven countries, or maybe because God wanted to bless this effort abundantly, the most competitive entries to date were received from 29 artists/bands from five countries. 15 performers from four countries were included in the Rocking Romans 2008 Best of New Catholic Music compilation CD that was released in June of 2008. Initial sales have been brisk, and the expectation is that this outstanding collection of Catholic Music will be quite popular for the remainder of 2008 and beyond.
