2008 Music Video Contest

Rocking Romans believes it is time to showcase the growing number of quality Catholic Music videos that have been produced over the past couple of years.  Except for live performances, the best way for Catholic artists to expand their audience is through professionally produced videos.  So welcome to the newest Rocking Romans online Catholic Music contest...video style.

Here are the rules for entry.  Any Catholic band/artist (or videographer) can submit one or more music videos for consideration.  Fill out this entry form, including a band/artist photo file and a link to wherever you have posted your video(s) for display.  All submissions must be received before February 1, 2009.  Rocking Romans will review your submission and determine if it is a fit with the goals of the contest.  If the submission meets the necessary criteria, the link to the video will be posted on this site.  Entries will be judged for musical and video production quality, creativity, emotional appeal, spiritual impact, and overall artistic finesse.  A basic home video of an artist/or band playing at an event will not meet the contest's criteria and should not be submitted for consideration. 

The goal of this competition is to create a steady of stream of Catholic Music videos that will be the foundation of one or more Catholic Music video progams produced for distribution with a focus on internet channels and Catholic television stations.  So spread the word...this is a great opportunity to promote Catholic Music and should be Rocking Romans' best contest to date!  If you want to see videos that have already been entered in the contest, follow this link to watch videos.

The following terms and conditions apply to the Rocking Romans Catholic Music Video contest.  By checking the box that follows, you are agreeing to be bound legally by these terms and conditions.

Permission to Display.  All entries are submitted with the understanding that Rocking Romans has been granted permission to display the video or videos and/or related links on the Rocking Romans website without limitation.  By submitting one or more videos for consideration, you represent that the content of your video or videos does not infringe on the copyrights, trademarks, song rights, publishing rights, mechanical rights, or any other form of artistic or musical ownership of any person, organization, or legal entity. 

Protected Status.  You agree to shield Rocking Romans from any legal or economic harm that it might be exposed to as a result of displaying your video or videos.  If your video is based on the musical work of another person or group of persons, you represent that you have obtained written permission by them to use their music or other artistic work in your video and must submit a scanned copy of this written permission along with your contest entry.  You also agree that Rocking Romans is not liable for any economic, legal, or other harm that you might experience as a result of its posting your video, videos, or a link or links to your video or videos on its website or its use of your video or videos in future music video programming.

Gratis Participation.  Rocking Romans cannot guarantee that any monetary compensation will be provided to artists, bands, or videographers for the display of their video or videos on its web site or for the incorporation of their video or videos in one or more music video programs as a result of their participation in this contest.  The basis of this contest is the assumption that music videos are a form of promotion for an artist or band's musical work.  Therefore, you agree that the display of your video or use of your video in a music video program will support the effort of promoting your music or the music of the artist or band's work upon which your video was based.  Rocking Romans also cannot guarantee that the videos it receives will actually be used in a music video program, and it reserves the right not to use video submissions in such programming.

Unencumbered Distribution.  You hereby agree to grant Rocking Romans permission to promote your video or videos or to distribute music video programming that includes this video or videos through as many channels as it deems necessary and appropriate.  You further agree not to seek or otherwise assert a claim to ownership in any music video programming produced by Rocking Romans that results from your participation in this contest.

ROCKING ROMANS MAKES NO WARRANTIES, IMPLIED OR EXPLICIT, IN THIS AGREEMENT OR AS A PART OF THIS CONTEST.

If one or more sections of this Agreement is deemed unenforceable, the other sections of the Agreement will remain in force for as long as allowed by law.
