2007 Rocking Romans Entry for World Youth Day 2008
Rocking Romans' first contest answered the challenge of planning the Youth Rally portion of the International Youth and Family Encounter in Atlanta that took place in the Summer of 2007. With the goal of finding the best Catholic band and Catholic soloist to play at the Youth Rally, emails went out to hundreds of people in the United States and Canada announcing this inaugural competition. 31 Catholic artists/bands entered samples of their music for consideration. Canada's Critical Mass took the band category, and the United States' MILO took the soloist prize. Both were brought to perform in Atlanta, received professional photo shoot sessions at the Youth and Family Encounter, and had the audio and video of their performances recorded. Critical Mass and MILO continue to collaborate with Rocking Romans.
