Completely (2000)

Critical Mass released this CD in 2000, the second of the group's commercial albums. The song "Humility" was nominated for Best Rock Song. The album was also nominated for Best Modern Rock Album and Song at the 2001 Catholic Music and Video Association Unity Awards. The song "Share it with the World" also appeared on the official World Youth Day 2002 compilation CD.

	Tim Devine always wanted to write a joyful song about what God has done for him in his life...about how He has set us all free.

	This song speaks to the reality that God walks with us on all of the paths we take in life...all the way home.

	This song had its birth at a writing session in Combremere, Ontario...these words that Jesus gave us at the Last Supper are words that we need to hear over and over (Jn 14:27).

	Written over Christmas 1999 during a time when Matt Devine was feeling the real healing power of forgiveness.

	This song started off as a series of images by Tim Devine...it seemed to Dave Wang to be an allegory of the second coming. According to Tim, it is said that it is darkest before the dawn...we must hold on to the promise that the peace of Jesus will reign on earth (Rom 8:18-27; Lk 1:78-79).

	Much of the "secret" to reaching joy in this life and heaven in the life to come is practicing the virtue of humility, knowing who we are and who we are not...all according to God's plan for us from the beginning of time.

	The band was ready to pack it in at the studio, but Andy Horrocks encouraged them to try a new tempo and rhythm. Matt B. and Eric started playing the cool drum and bass parts and voila! This song was written for Matt Devine's wife, Kate, through whom the Lord reveals His love for Matt in so many ways.

	One can hear the voice of Mary herself singing to us through this song about her obedience to God's will that she serve His Son...something that she asks us all to do along with her.

	Based on St. Faustina's Chaplet of Divine Mercy, Matt Devine wrote it having just prayed the Chaplet. He just picked up the guitar and sang the chorus to the Lord. The song was later completed during a writing session with Marcel Dion.

	God loves us more than we could ever imagine, even when we turn away from Him. This song thanks God for that love and asks Him to help us experience it all the more deeply.

	This brief song of praise expresses the band's thanks for God's support and inspiration in all things, including the journey of completing this CD project.
